The Wilbur Community Building The community building was actually a one room school that sat near the town of Wick, WV. The building was purchased, torn down and reassembled in Wilbur on land that was donated for the purpose by William and Gladys (Weekley) Haymond. The task was completed in 1952, and the building became the center of social activities in Wilbur.

Officers were elected for the "Club" and various activities were organized to generate funds for the maintenance of the building, maintenance of the cemetery, and for activities such as the Christmas program. The program consisted of the children reciting poems and singing songs, there was a Christmas tree, and of course, Santa would put in an appearance. Every child received a bag of candy and a small gift.
The first directors of the club were Fanny Davis, Opal Weekley, and Parley Williams. Herman "Petty" Ash was the first president and Nancy Ash was the first secretary-treasurer.
In later years, the building also became the center of the Senior Citizens organization. At this time the main activity at the building is the annual "Social." This is held in conjunction with Memorial Day. Food is sold, there are cakewalks, and crafts and other small items are auctioned for the purpose of raising money for the maintenance of the Cemetery. It also serves as a reunion of the remaining descendents and former residents of the village.
