WILBUR Friends here of this community have just received word that Rev. Will Scott, a boy who was in early youth a native of our town, was stricken with paralysis last Friday, is not expected to live. The exhibition by our young people held in the Duckworth grove and managed by Mr. Oris Grove was one of the best entertainments ever seen and our entire community and especially the fathers and mothers of this place wish to thank Mr. Grove and hope this will not be the last one. W. E. Doak, wife and family motored to Newport Sunday, where they met Mr. Doak's brother and had a very enjoyable day. Earl George of our town has gone to Pittsburgh, Pa., to work for a steel company there. Alton Conaway returned Saturday evening from Clarksburg, where he reports Mrs. Conoway and their son, Roy, both doing well. Mrs. Conoway and her son, Roy, both having had a serious operation. |
Rymer Pratt, of California, formerly of this place, will start home this week. We are sorrow to say that we are lose(sic) one minister, the Rev. Mr. Collins, he having been assigned to other work. Mrs. Georgie Dunnington and sister paid a short visit to Mr. and Mrs. Conaway of our town a few days ago. Mr. Dunnington is interested in a lease near here. With our very best wishes to the Star-News and its editor. −−Bill
