Pentecostal

There was a church in Wilbur that I believe was possibly a Pentecostal church, but I have not been able to confirm this. I have heard this church referred to as a "Holy Roller" church. The building was about one hundred yards north of the store and post office and on the same side of the road. In the 1950's, I heard the building called "the Sticker House" (it was vacant at that time). I don't know if this was from a family name, or if it came from some other source. The building either fell down or was torn down many years ago, and no trace of it is left. On the "Wilbur Scenes" page of this site, there is a photograph that I have labeled "Main Street". This building appears on the extreme left of the photo. I have reason to believe that it was originally built as a house, then later used as a church. The facts that we do know, are that there was a church active in this building in the 1930's, and that members of the congregation included the Early and Alma Pernell family. If anyone has further information about this church or any of its members, please contact me so that we may add to the history.
