United States Post Office

Wilbur, West Virginia 26459

The  post office was first established here in 1889. The story is told that the name applied for was "Fairview", but since there was already a post office in the state with that name, the individual handling the application used part of the name of the person who had signed the application. This was John Wilbur Grimm, a resident and school teacher, who also became the first Postmaster.

The following is a list of the Postmasters and Postmistresses over the life of the Wilbur post office.
